The Description
Holly has always been a lucky girl. Opportunities follow her like a promise, and she almost always gets what she wants. So, when a handsome cowboy catches her eye during a quick trip to Nashville, she assumes he’s just another lucky distraction.
Until fate throws her back into Dallas’s orbit, this time in Cape Cod. And the cowboy isn’t just a cowboy after all. A Vermont local, Dallas finds himself juggling farm chores, shifts at his aunt’s market, and the pressure of settling down. Wanting to please the people he loves, Dallas makes Holly an offer she can’t refuse—anything she wants in exchange for playing his girlfriend.
Pretending is easy. Reminding herself that it’s fake is the hard part. And Dallas is hiding a secret that could ruin not only his reputation but his deal with Holly if the truth comes out. But she won’t find out, right?

Fun Facts and More Information
I wrote 4 other books before this! (1 poetry [it will be okay], 1 young adult [unreleased], 2 romance [also unreleased as of now].
I don’t know what made this book so much different than the others, but I felt like I needed to finish it and put it out into the world ASAP. It felt really easy to plot, outline, and write. I wanted a fun, light-hearted book. While I wrote it, I was in graduate school and Carried Away was a way for me to escape the stress of exams, homework, and whatever else my classes brought to me.
I am an east coaster, and I love all of the east coast states equally ❤ It was hard to pick which 2 states to write about but Massachusetts and Vermont just felt right. At the time of writing this book, I was feeling really conflicted about what I wanted to do after I was done with grad school. I felt myself constantly asking myself, should I stay on the east coast, or go somewhere new? I love Nashville, Tennessee AND Fort Worth, Texas so much which is why I wanted to incorporate them both into the story.
For a while, I actually hated the east coast. I hated how close everything is, the harsh snow storms, and the fact that everyone seems to know everyone. But, the older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve learned to appreciate and love it! There are so many beautiful places in New England and I highly recommend it to everyone. There really is nothing like New England during autumn. Watching the leaves fall in September while drinking a pumpkin drink is pure serenity.
Writing this book gave me clarity on what to do after graduating as well it really helped me fall back in love with New England! I’m forever grateful for it!
